Puttige Shakthipura Valya Celebrated Silver Moodbidre:Puttige Shakthipura Valya a village group of Kudubi Community celebrated it's silver jubilee at Shakthipura near Moodbidre with cultural sports,traditional holy dance and stage programme.Valya's Silver jubilee honour was given to five achievers of community.Mijar Annappa, a yakshagaana artist, Miss Deavki,national athlete,Annugowda Beedu, a traditional Medicine practitioner,G.G.Puttige, a dramatist,Damugowda, the seniormost person of Valya were the person's honoured in this occassion.Mr.Adigal Srinivas Bhat,the chief preiest of Puttige Somanath temple near Moodbidre inaugurated this event.Mr.Sucharitha Shetty,the president of D.K.Jillapanchayath,M.Ramegowda, the president of Karnataka state Kudubi Association,Narayan Naik the secretory of Karnataka State Kudubi Association,Parabhakar Rao,Rajaram Bhat,Sudhakar Sherigar ,gurikar of the Valya Mr.Lokanath Gowda were guests on this occassion.Representatives of Valya Mr. Bhavanishankar Jogeri,B.K.Muralidhar,Yathiraj Barke,Padmanabha Udupi and others were presnt in this occion. It was attended by over 25,000 farmers from all over the district. The folklore procession of distinct Tulu Nadu culture, with the concept incorporated by Dhanakeerti Balipa was the key interest among the folklore performances. Sri Bharatakeerti Swamiji of Jain Math here, addressing the large gathering of farmers, said that all religions in the world exhort the rich to share their wealth with the less fortunate. Sharing of wealth will make the underprivileged to lead a better life. He commended the efforts of Navodaya Vikas Trust, in this direction. The convention was indeed a display of unity and solidarity among the farmers' fraternity of Dakshina Kannada. M N Rajendra Kumar, president of South Canara District Credit Cooperative (SCDCC) Bank, said that the very fact that Navodaya Gram Vikas Trust has shared the platform with politicians including independent candidates at the convention', conveys its secular stand. Moreover, he urged the union government to extend loans to agriculturists at 4 per cent interest besides to waiving all the agricultural loans till December 31, 2007. Former ministers Amarnath Shetty, Nagaraj Shetty, former MLAs Gopal Bhandary, Gopal Poojary, Abhayachandra Jain, Kamal Tauri, IAS officer, Udupi Congress district president M A Gafoor, Anil Kumar Kateel, Raman Reddy, Hemanath Gopal, Krishna Hegde Kolkebail, Navodaya Dharwad convener, Mallikarjuna A Harekeri, veteran of Dakshina Kannada Cooperative movement, Sitaram Rai, were also present. Narayan Priyam, Sunilkeerti, officers N P Muniappa and C R Palangappa, Navodaya Cooperative Society president, Hemalatha Jain, Jayaprakash Hegde were present on the dais. Navodaya SHG members served delicious traditional lunch to all the participants who arrived from far off areas. Fancy dress show and other cultural events were held as part of entertainment programmes.

Aadarsha,Agency for Development Awakening and Rural Self Help Associations Moodbidre celebrated it's 8th anniversary along with the dance and fancy dress competitionhere at Moodbidre Padmavathi Kalyan Mantap.

Srinivasa Kalyanostava

Srinivasa ಕಲ್ಯನೋಸ್ತವ a replica of God Tirupathi Timmappa was held at Moodbidre Swarajya Maidan.

Moodbidre Ponnechari Shree Venkatramana Temple with the support of its disciples organized this Megha festival in which more than ten thousand people participated as Kalyanostava held first time at Moodbidre.

The kalyanostava is Dramatisation of marriage ceremony of the god of Tirupathi Srinivas with Padmavathi. The Kalyanostava is the brainchild of Tirupathi temple’s Dasasahitya Project.The kalyanostsava held in four parts Darshana, Srinivasa Agamana and Abhisheka, Padmavathi episode and Kalyana.

All the rituals of Hindu marriages are held with beautiful wordings of Dasa’s like Purandaradas a famous poet and keerthanakar of Kannada language.
